There’s a saying ANGER IS ACTIVE SADNESS; SADNESS IS PASSIVE ANGER. Having quoted that, I will further say that anger is a sign of mental weakness and ends in repentance and remorse. If you can control anger, you will have limitless energy in your reserve.
How do you control anger ? Pray. Be alert. Observe silence daily for an hour. Forget and forgive. See God in all. In the morning, meditate on the virtue of patience. Remember the Gita shlokas, describing anger as a monster and the gateway to hell. if you find it difficult to control your anger, leave the room, go for a walk, drink some cold water. Repeat ‘Om Shanti’ 10 times, your anger will subside. Never give vent to anger, meditate often and thus you will acquire inner spiritual strength.
Food has a great deal to do with irritability. Avoid foods that make you irritable. Take milk, fruits, moong-ki-dal, curd, spinach, barley, groundnuts and butter-milk. The Prana entwines the mind like a creeper. Pranayama leads to control of the mind. It will also give you abundant energy to check your anger. If provoked, stop, keep quiet and measure your words before you utter them. ‘Think before you speak’, that is something you should keep in mind.
