Here is a heart warming story of a friendship of a 5 year old girl, Iris Grace and her Therapy Cat —- one year old Thula.  This incredibly talented little girl, who is autistic, paints beautiful pictures.  She is a pint-sized Picasso, and her paintings sell for 1000pounds each.  The sales, from her paintings, go towards buying her art material and paying her therapists.  It turns out that she has behind-the -scenes helper, who is also worthy of praise —— that’s Thula, her therapeutic cat.

Thula, who is a year old, is a Maine Coon.  This breed is known as the ‘intelligent and gentle giant’ of the cat world., and though she’s still small, Thula does not disappoint.  She is always lurking near Iris or in the background, whether she’s painting another ‘masterpiece’,. working with Play-Doh or simply taking a well-deserved nap.

Thula’s gentle and compassionate character is especially important for Iris, and she has lowered Iris’ daily anxieties in life and keeps Iris calm, Iris’ mother, Arabella Carter-Johnson, told Bored Panda.  Thula equally has the effect of encouraging her to be more social.  She will talk more to Thula, using small phrases like ‘sit cat’.  When Iris’ parents found that she had autism, in 2011, they sent her for ‘art-therapy’, and they discovered that she had an incredible talent with colours.  One of her masterpieces is named “Tuesday’s Child.”  She does not use an easel, but does all her paintings on a table, and  Thula is always around, as if appreciating what is being created.  An INCREDIBLE BONDING, indeed !!!!!!
